Top players from the international gypsy jazz scene come together at the BIMHUIS for the sixth edition of Django Amsterdam. A festival in honor of Django Reinhardt, founder of the gyspy jazz or swing manouche.

Django Reinhardt (1910 – 1953) is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. In the 1930’s, he developed a music style of his own: jazz manouche, hot club de France, swing manouche or gypsy jazz. Characteristic of this is the BOEM TJIK BOEM TJIK rhythm. On January 23 the legend would have celebrated his 110th birthday. To celebrate this, major international and Dutch names come together during Django Amsterdam to play the best gypsy jazz. The public is also invited to participate in workshops, jam sessions and a special family concert.
