Guy Salamon drums / composition, Alistair Payne trumpet, Ian Cleaver trumpet, Josè Soares alto sax, Lucas Martinez tenor sax, Teis Semey guitar, YoungWoo Lee piano, Brodie Jarvie bass

The band of the Israeli drummer Guy Salamon is a multicultural musical company and so you can hear. There are influences from, among others, Charles Mingus, Willem Breuker, but also from folk music from the Balkans and Israel. Contagiously swinging, theatrical music that is tightly composed and at the same time leaves enough room for improvisation.

Earlier the band impressed with their debut album Unfollow the Leader, also with compositions by Salamons own hand. The record won the first prize at Keep an Eye – The Records. Guy Salamon has already worked with Jesse van Ruller, Reinier Baas, Jasper Blom and Tineke Postma, among others. Now he gets the chance to create new work, in the new traject Close Distance of BIMHUIS Productions. How do you do that as a musician in times of Corona? Salamon gives us an answer to that question on November 20.
