PANDOCHEION is a thrilling variation on a Greek Tragedy, reflecting on poignant current issues. Composer/musician David Kweksilber collaborated with visual artist Merijn Bolink and writer Ivan Peroti to create a performance-en-suite about the isolated experience and the desire for a shared experience.
PANDOCHEION (inn) will be performed in different concert halls at the same time: the BIMHUIS and the neighboring halls of Muziekgebouw. During five parts the performers will appear in three halls. From a separate fourth space, a leading voice will appear through audiovisual streaming. Every hall will experience the unique interaction between the constantly changing leading voices and performers.
In short, every hall will experience its own partial version of PANDOCHEION. The whole piece will be realized online in a video where all of the halls, performers, sounds and images will be combined. This will be shown on BIMHUIS TV, The Muziekgebouw website, YouTube and Vimeo. PANDOCHEION will look enticing and tender, and will sound cracking and soulful.
The five parts: 1. Panmixie, 2. Pandocheion, 3. Pandemonium, 4. Pantomime Pangolin, 5. Panacee/Panorama
