The Amsterdam Conservatory is bursting with young, passionate musicians who experiment freely and launch new initiatives. From late May to late June, our stage is the setting for these Rough Diamonds, with two bands per evening, free and open to the public. Tonight’s performers:
WAZO BEAN
WAZO BEAN is a five-piece Amsterdam band that transforms soulful, intimate songs into layered, buzzing life, with a raw, groove-driven energy. With Carolina Gemmell on vocals and acoustic guitar, they explore their musical world through the eyes of animals and imagined beings, accompanied by cello, double bass, electric guitar and drums.
Carolina Gemmell vocals/acoustic guitar, Adrian Bifano electric guitar, Pablo Gonzalez cello, Aniol Torrents double bass, Guy Abada drums
LO-V
LO-V is a project by pianist Jules Charbonnier that blends genres and influences into richly textured, emotionally driven music. By exploring timbres, trance and sound design, it creates a sonic space where connection and inclusivity take centre stage, human and multi-layered at once.
Jules Charbonnier piano, Karlīna Priedēna flute/guitar/vocals, Diana Dzhabbar flute/alto sax, Marta Rodrigues guitar, Maxime Boyer guitar, Veerle van der Wal bass, Ludvig Søndergaard drums
