Emma Rawicz is recognized as one of the great saxophone players of the new British jazz generation. INKYRA represents an ambitious new direction for the London-based rising star. Her effortlessly singable melodies and hard-hitting grooves form the basis for collective improvisation on a high level. In this band, all members are able to shine and push their boundaries. Call it jazz, rock, fusion or singer-songwriter music—in the end it all comes together in one unique personal style.

Emma Rawicz made name on Instagram with clips showing her impressive skills on tenor sax, flute and bass clarinet. In her original compositions, the young star from London takes example from legendary saxophonists/composers such as Joe Henderson and Wayne Shorter. But she is also inspired by the songs of Joni Mitchell. Her recent album INKYRA appeared on the label ACT and in her eponymous band she plays with respected musicians from British jazz.

‘With INKYRA, Emma Rawicz comes in full-bloom, an artist with a great vision and voice that uplifts the spirit and taps the soul’ (Downbeat).
