Drummer and bandleader Edu Ribeiro is one of Brazil’s most celebrated jazz musicians. Known for his work with Trio Corrente, he has collaborated throughout his career with João Bosco, Randy Brecker, Brad Mehldau, Ivan Lins and Ron Carter. His trio is completed by guitarist Vinícius Gomes, whose refined sound explores the worlds of jazz and Brazilian music, and bassist Doug Weiss, a sought-after jazz musician who has played with Al Foster, Lee Konitz and Ravi Coltrane.

The album Caipora (Blaxtream Jazz) is the result of the encounter between the Edu Ribeiro Trio and Canadian tenor saxophonist Seamus Blake, known for collaborations with Wayne Shorter, John Scofield and Maria Schneider. Recorded in New York in September 2024, the album celebrates the cross-pollination between the rhythmic and harmonic richness of Brazilian music and the improvisational freedom of contemporary jazz. Saxophonist Lucas Santana joins the lineup especially for this album release concert.
