Masked Bahraini ud player YAD Oud brings the ancient sound of the Arabic lute into the present day, in a style entirely his own. He combines Arabic melodies with modern arrangements and influences from ambient, hip-hop and electronic music. The result is a sound that is both traditional and innovative, and one that has been streamed millions of times worldwide.
At this closing concert of UD Festival 2026 he shares the stage with the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra, which performs music from Granada to Baghdad across a wide range of periods and styles: from the rich Arabo-Andalusian repertoire to mystical Eastern music, and from the refined improvised music of the Arab world to the folk music of the Maghreb.
