Brazilian Music Series Classic Bossa

Wanda Sá Trio feat. Bernardo Lobo

    & SPECIAL GUESTS

Brazilian singer Wanda Sá is the hidden pearl of bossa nova, and one of the pioneers of the genre in the 1960s.

With her soft, velvety voice and delicate style, Wanda Sá is renowned as one of the most influential bossa nova singers. She made an impression with the albums Vagamente (1964) and Softly (1965), after which she dropped out of the picture while kindred spirits such as Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes and João Gilberto made international fame. She picked up her career in the 1990s and in 2018 she’s more prolific than ever.

Sounds of Brazil celebrates 60 years of bossa nova! The successful concert series is dedicated to the blend of samba and jazz that has become synonymous with Brazilian music all over the world. Since the release of Chega De Saudade (No More Blues), the groundbreaking album by João Gilberto, the bossa nova has branched out into many directions.
