Ukrainian pianist and composer Vadim Neselovskyi, praised by The Guardian for his extraordinary playing, presents his new suite Perseverantia for piano and string trio. While drawing inspiration from the ongoing tragedy in Ukraine, Perseverantia transcends politics; it is an ode to courage and hope in times of struggle.

Musically, the suite moves between the lyricism of Eastern European folk music blended with avant-garde, minimalism and metal-like grooves. The album, produced by John Zorn, will be released in February on Tzadik Records. It was recorded in the Bethlehem Church in Amsterdam with the Ysaÿe Trio, consisting of Rada Ovcharova on violin, Emlyn Stam on viola, and Willem Stam on cello.

“Placing exhilarating piano improvisations in the context of gorgeous compositions for classical string trio, Perseverantia is Vadim’s greatest work to date.” – Tzadik Records
