Since 2014, saxophonist Efraïm Trujillo, organist Rob Mostert and drummer Chris Strik have played together as The Preacher Men. Whether they take on a smoky late-night ballad or a driving groove, this trio always sounds soulful, with jazz, blues and gospel at its foundation. Trujillo, who also plays in The Ploctones, reaches for the rare E♭ blues horn alongside his tenor saxophone. Mostert works the pedals of his Hammond B3 organ with bare feet like no other, while Strik was voted best jazz drummer in the Benelux by Slagwerkkrant readers in 2024 and 2025.
The debut Preaching Out Loud (2016) was followed by Blue, winner of the Edison Audience Award in 2019, and Royal Flush, nominated for the same award in 2024. In 2026 the band celebrates its twelfth anniversary with a special project: twelve new singles, presented across twelve concerts, of which the one at our venue is of course the best to attend. With special guests, who will be announced later.
‘The Preacher Men is and remains the relentlessly swinging, tireless trio’ (Jazzflits).
