Tether Trio is the new project of Grammy-nominated vocalist Theo Bleckmann and internationally acclaimed saxophonist Timo Vollbrecht, both based in New York. Together with pianist Harmen Fraanje, they weave improvisation and melody-driven songs where space and breathing take center stage.

The trio creates a deeply personal sound by tastefully blending the natural, acoustic colors of voice, saxophone and piano with electronic live processing. Following a joint performance at the Fajr International Music Festival in Iran (2021), Bleckmann and Vollbrecht decided to continue their collaboration. Fraanje, who previously performed with Bleckmann during November Music, now completes the lineup. The name Tether refers to the interweaving of musical ideas these three free-thinking musicians bring together.
