A tribute to everything that remains invisible: unspoken emotions, unexpressed thoughts, and conversations that never found a voice. That’s the heart of Latent Info, the new album by Greek bassist and composer Petros Klampanis. The title refers to the album’s recording method: Klampanis recorded it live in a single room together with pianist Kristjan Randalu and drummer Ziv Ravitz.
Those fleeting moments when a piano note bleeds into the microphone of the double bass, that is what Klampanis calls ‘latent info’. For him, it’s a metaphor for everything that goes unnoticed but carries deep meaning. Latent Info is the sixth album Klampanis releases under his own name. His previous record, Tora Collective, was named one of DownBeat Magazine’s ‘Best Albums of the Year 2023’.
“A formidable player and composer.”
