Peter Beets first met Lucy Yeghiaryan in Philadelphia, where she did a gig with well-known jazz musicians. This encounter made a big impression on him and he kept playing her music on repeat in the following year. Now the time is finally there for Lucy to travel here and perform with Peter. Prepare for a concert in which songs are brought to life by a singer who understands the art of storytelling in the glorious spirit of the great jazz vocalists of the past.

Lucy Yeghiazaryan grew up in post-Soviet Armenia, where as a youngster she started listening to the once forbidden jazz records of her father. Years before she even spoke English she sang along to the melodies, closely imitating the sounds of legends such as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. In 2002 she migrated to the United States, where she deepened her knowledge of jazz. She shared the stage with greats such as Harold Mabern, Houston Person and Grant Stewart, and she regularly collaborates with the Emmet Cohen Trio. Now she shares the stage with Peter Beets on piano, Steve Zwanink on double bass, Martijn Vink on drums and special guest Gideon Tazelaar on tenor sax.
