Nils Petter Molvær is regarded as one of the great innovators of European jazz. With his distinctive trumpet sound he explores the boundaries between improvisation and electronics, between lyrical melodies and pulsating rhythms. His new album Stitches reveals this versatility: from the dreamy Scandinavian atmosphere of Nearly Invisible Stitches to the moving ballad True Love Waits, his first ever cover, originally by Radiohead.
As always, Molvær’s musical language is unmistakable: poetic and intimate on the one hand, dramatic and layered on the other. Ever since his legendary debut Khmer (ECM), which sold more than 250,000 copies worldwide, he has been one of the most important voices in contemporary jazz. He now brings his trio to our stage, with Jo Berger Myhre on bass and Erland Dahlen on drums and samples.
