Mete Erker Trio + 1
Saxophonist and composer Mete Erker presents with his Trio + 1 a double album full of musical discoveries: Tilburg Noord / Tilburg B-side. This suite is an exploration of identity, memory and the poetry that lies hidden in the cracks of a 1970s suburban development. Together with the young top musicians Floris Kappeyne (piano), Tijs Klaassen (double bass) and Wouter Kühne (drums), Erker creates a soundscape where freedom and structure meet.
With this album, the saxophonist, known for collaborations with among others Jeroen van Vliet, Artvark Saxophone Quartet and Anton Goudsmit’s Ton Petit+, takes a new, adventurous path. His music moves between contemporary European impressionism and the free, extraverted jazz of Albert Ayler and Charlie Haden.
Mete Erker tenor sax, Floris Kappeyne piano, Tijs Klaassen double bass, Wouter Kühne drums
