Pianist Marco Mezquida has what it takes to make our grand piano erupt. In his homeland of Spain he is being worshipped for his dazzling performances. According to the popular newspaper El Mundo there’s a breathtaking amount of music flowing through his veins, and he has mastered every possible piano school, from baroque to avant-garde.
His new album Letter to Milos was created in the first year of his son’s life. It’s an ode to his child, and it encompasses all the styles he has explored that year. From latin to progressive pop. But also romantic music of composers such as Brahms. And traditional styles from his homeland, such as corrido maragato, ajechao, sorteao, and bulería. Marco Mezquida presents the album with his main trio featuring cellist Martin Meléndez and percussionist Aleix Tobias.
