Kurt Rosenwinkel is an important example for the current generation of jazz guitarists, not only because of his virtuosity, but also because of his open mind and his successful experiments with rock and hip-hop. His lyrical playing is acclaimed by, among others, Eric Clapton, who gifted one of his iconic guitars to Rosenwinkel, and by The Roots, with whom he performed on The Jimmy Fallon Show. He will appear on our stage in a trio-line-up, like on his recent album Angels Around.

Kurt Rosenwinkel made himself known in the bands of legends such as Paul Motian and Joe Henderson. He worked with famous peers such as Joshua Redman and Brad Mehldau. He continues to explore new vantage points in jazz. For example, in recent year he released albums with jazz variations on classical compositions by Brahms and Chopin, alongside a solo album on baritone guitar (Berlin Baritone), and even an album where he plays piano (Kurt Rosenwinkel Plays Piano).
