As soon as Korhan Futacı presses his lips to the saxophone’s mouthpiece, the ritual begins. During his concert, the prominent figure of Turkey’s alternative music scene will guide us from the chaos of Istanbul to an uncharted realm. A place filled with vitality but also darkness; fusing traditional Turkish music with free improvisations. With his brand new all-Turkish group he plays alongside baritone saxophonist Baris Erturk, drawing us into an immersive musical universe that transcends time and place.

Korhan Futacı has performed on countless stages as a saxophonist, vocalist and electronic sound sorcerer, most notably as part of the group Konstrukt. This internationally renowned ensemble has collaborated with prominent musicians across genres, including avant-garde icons Peter Brötzmann, Marshall Allen, Thurston Moore, Ken Vandermark, William Parker.

‘Korhan Futacı and his band from Istanbul played as if the city itself flowed through their veins. Their music drove and screamed, with ripping saxes, rousing bass and drums that made the blood beat faster’ (JazzRadar).

Korhan Futaci sax/vocals/fx, Baris Erturk baritone sax/fx, Esat Ekincioglu bass, Özün Usta percussion, Erdem Göymen drums
