Kneebody has created a genre and style all its own, coming from jazz but with the power of rock and contemporary electronic dance music. On their new album they return to their core sound, with Adam Benjamin on keyboards, Shane Endsley on trompet, Ben Wendel on sax en Nate Wood who simultaneously plays bass guitar and drums (!) In this compact line-up they continue to amaze with their intricate improvisations and compositions, which reveal traces of contemporary classical and minimal music.
Throughout their almost two-decade history, Kneebody has continuously evolved through collaborating with a wide range of artists. The album Kneedelus, for example, was a groundbreaking collaboration with electronic artist Daedelus on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. The band earned a Grammy nomination for their collaboration with vocalist Theo Bleckmann on the album Twelve Songs by Charles Ives. Other collaborators include Becca Stevens, Gretchen Parlato en Gerald Clayton.
Shane Endsley trumpet, Ben Wendel tenor sax, Adam Benjamin keys, Nate Wood drums/electric bass
