In December 1996, a band of young firebrands turned the old BIMHUIS upside down with a fresh and contemporary sound. Now, thirty years later, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw returns to where it all began for two special anniversary concerts.

Hailed by Algemeen Dagblad as the best, most versatile and most swinging big band in the Netherlands, the orchestra has shared its love for jazz with numerous national and international soloists over the years. The anniversary is celebrated with The Jazz Influencers XL: two concerts packed with special guests, tonight featuring Brandee Younger, Benjamin Herman and Ella Zirina, and May 17 Joris Roelofs, Anna Serierse, Jesse van Ruller and Angelo Verploegen. You’ll hear the Jazz Influencers of then and the Jazz Influencers of now, side by side with one of Europe’s finest jazz orchestras.
