The album Streams on ECM Records is a milestone in the oeuvre of Danish guitarist Jakob Bro. In November 2015 he recorded it with two absolute jazz masters from New York, double bassist Thomas Morgan and drummer Joey Baron. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Streams they will now return to the stage together. Expect layered, spacious improvisations on electric guitar, double bass and drums.
Jakob Bro has previously played in the bands of Paul Motian and Tomasz Stańko, and on his own albums he has worked Lee Konitz and Bill Frisell, among others. Jakob’s multi-layered playing has caught the attention of famous fellow guitarists such as Kurt Rosenwinkel. Critics are endlessly fascinated by the ‘clouds of sound’ (Jazz Times) that Jakob produces. Thomas Morgan has regularly played at our venue, for example in the bands of Craig Taborn and Ethan Iverson. Joey Baron is known for his collaborations with major artists such as John Zorn and Jim Hall.
