Still going strong: saxophonist Hans Dulfer continues to play as if his life depends on it, with an energy that never fades. Tonight he presents a double program: first in duet with drummer and improviser Han Bennink, then with his own band Dulfer! Total Response.

How often do you get to see two giants of Dutch jazz together these days? Last year, Dulfer and Bennink released the vinyl album The New, New Acoustic Swing Duo, a live concert from 2023 featuring on the B-side a long-forgotten recording from 1979. A duo that delivers theatre, excitement, humor, and unadulterated jazz.

Dulfer! Total Response brings an explosive mix of free funk, dance, jazz, Latin, and rock ’n’ roll, with brand-new material and bold reinterpretations of Dulfer classics. Dulfer’s sax takes center stage, surrounded by an all-star band: Koen Schouten on baritone sax, Jerôme Hol on guitar, Ishaq van Niel on bass, and Hans Eijkenaar on drums.
