Early Show: Kukangendai
Listening to Kukangendai is like treading into unkown waters. This experimental rockband from Japan has been building an impressive oeuvre of music that is constantly evolving in the realms of acoustic music with electronic influences. Some call it math rock, others avant-jazz, or minimalistic, but they prefer not to put a label on it. One thing is for sure, their sound is both exciting and goes against all the rules, and puts you on the edge of your seat. Their dedication and drive to innovate has made many a fan, among others Gisèle Vienne and Ryuichi Sakamoto. In the last few years Kukangendai has been working with theatre makers. At the Holland Festival the band performs for the very first time on a Dutch stage – a must for any musical explorer.
Please note
The Holland Festival is a Testing for Entry event. You have to be able to show a negative test at the concert.
