Afro Anatolian Tales, led by the Dutch-Turkish percussionist Sjahin During, brings together new grooves, soulful dialogues, and electronic textures. Sounds from Anatolia, Iran, and India merge with contemporary compositions, improvisation, and digital sound design.

Afro Anatolian Tales continuously moves between tradition and innovation. Authentic instruments such as percussion, kamancheh, tanbur, cello and trumpet fuse through improvisation and electronics. Especially for this concert, the ensemble will be expanded with Iranian virtuosos Niusha Barimani (kamanche, vocals) and Saghar Khadem (percussion). Their characteristic timbres and rhythmic finesse enrich the cinematic, contemporary character of this ensemble.

    Introduction by Sahand Sahebdivani

From 19:45 to 20:15, Dutch-Iranian storyteller Sahand Sahebdivani will introduce the concert with personal stories and a conversation with the musicians about their collaboration and the developments in Iran that audibly resonate in the music. Free admission with a concert ticket.

Special guests Niusha Barimani kamanche/vocals, Saghar Khadem percussion
