BIMHUIS would never have existed without a group of pioneers who took over a furniture shop in 1974 and made it the place for jazz and improvised music. What they started, we carry on. Support us by including BIMHUIS in your will, and help make sure we can keep going for at least another 50 years.
How to include us in your will
There are two ways to include us in your will: you can leave us a legacy or name us as an heir. Both are arranged through a civil-law notary, who draws up a deed setting out precisely what you are leaving and under what conditions.
Legacy
A legacy is a gift described in your will: a fixed sum, or an item from your estate. These days, many people choose a percentage of their estate rather than a fixed sum. This prevents the legacy from falling out of proportion with your estate over time, so your wishes can still be carried out thirty years from now.

Naming us as an heir
You can also include us in your will as a (co-)heir, alongside family, friends or other charities. Legacies and inheritances without a specific purpose give us the most freedom. We use them where they are needed most at that moment.

ANBI
BIMHUIS is a cultural ANBI. This means we pay no inheritance tax on what you leave us: all of it benefits the music.
We understand that this is a very personal matter, so we would be glad to invite you for a no-obligation conversation.

“I associate BIMHUIS with tradition and legacy, but also with experiment, openness and connection. I was fifteen years old when I first stood on the stage at BIMHUIS. I still remember feeling a certain weight: the space, the light, the photos of all the legends on the wall. So I consider it a great honour to have taken on the first official BIMHUIS composition commission.”
