Spring Duets: Mete Erker & Dré Pallemaerts

Fri 10 May 2024

Spring, a time of renewal and growth. In our annual Spring Duets series we celebrate this sense of spring by creating new encounters between musicians we hold in high regard. Whether they are young heroes, internationally acclaimed performers, improv veterans or unique outsiders, together they take on the challenge of creating a new sound. Each duo will perform a set of 20 minutes, after which they will be interviewed by Hasna El Maroudi.

Two musicians who stand out because of their flexibility, interplay and timing. Saxophonist Mete Erker, previously on our stage with Artvark and in duo with Jeroen van Vliet, is known for his personal approach to music, combined with his warm tone and lyrical playing.  Flemish drummer Dré Pallemaerts always gives everything on stage, in a continuous search for the right sound. He has previously performed at our venue with Mark Turner and Tineke Postma and was a band member of the Brussels Jazz Orchestra.
