Django Amsterdam – family concert
Django Amsterdam is dedicated to gypsy jazz, in particular guitar icon Django Reinhardt. On Saturday afternoon a special kids concert with a Gypsy jazz quartet with a.o. Mozes Rosenberg.
Special ‘Kids Concert’with a Gypsy jazz quartet featuring Mozes Rosenberg (Stochelo’s younger brother) and Christiaan Van Hemert. This is a great opportunity for parents to bring their children into contact with the music and culture of Django Reinhardt and the gypsies.
Top players from the international gypsy jazz world will unite for the fourth edition of Django Amsterdam (26-28 January at BIMHUIS and Kapitein Zeppos). Django Amsterdam, with concerts, jam sessions, workshops and a kids’ afternoon, is dedicated to the birthday of guitarist Django Reinhardt, the originator of gypsy jazz or swing manouche. This style of acoustic swing jazz became part of the Roma and Sinti culture thanks to Django, who’s generally considered one of the greatest guitar players of all time.
