Ben Wendel Seasons Band

Sun 28 October 2018

Ben Wendel, saxophonist of Kneebody and forerunner of the current jazz generation, presents music from his YouTube project Seasons with well-known New York musicians.

American saxophonist Ben Wendel, known from the band Kneebody, recently appeared with Seasons, a remarkable video series on YouTube: 12 duets, composed for and dedicated to 12 musicians he admires, released over 12 months. The project was inspired by the eponymous series of piano duos by Tchaikovsky. Wendel will perform music from the project with a wonderful band featuring, among others, guitarist Gilad Hekselman.

Ben Wendel is a versatile musician, who effortlessly switches between tenor sax and bassoon and from jazz to classical music, funk or West Coast hip-hop. He was born in Vancouver, raised in Los Angeles and is currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Alongside jazz musicians such as Antonio Sánchez and Tigran Hamasyan he has collaborated with, among others, Prince, Snoop Dogg and producer/beat maker Daedelus.
