Aaron Parks Trio
Pianist Aaron parks presents new ECM album Find the Way featuring double bassist Ben Street and master drummer Billy Hart, who played with Miles Davis.
In his spacious and challenging music, Aaron Parks tips his hat to great examples such as Bela Bartók, Paul Bley and Keith Jarrett. Simultaneously, the American pianist does not hide his influences from for example film music and vocal jazz. The title track of his new album, released on ECM, was taken from an album by Rosemary Clooney and Nelson Riddle. Parks also drew inspiration from the likes of Shirley Horn and Alice Coltrane. He will perform with his acoustic trio featuring double bassist Ben Street and drummer Billy Hart, who’s famous for playing in the bands of Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery and Herbie Hancock.
Aaron Parks has played for a sold out Bimhuis several times in the group James Farm with Joshua Redman. The New York-based pianist established himself playing in Terence Blanchard’s group and as a sideman with Christian Scott, Gretchen Parlato, Kurt Rosenwinkel and many others.
