Due to an injury, cellist Emile Visser will be repleaced by Teije Hylkema. Also the program has changed: Set 1: – Zapp String Quartet Set 2: – Zapp String Quartet & Jeroen van Vliet – Oene van Geel & Jeroen van Vliet In the world of classical music, the string quartet has an honorable tradition but the Zapp String Quartet adds a contemporary line of approach and techniques from all corners of the world: jazz, rock, ethnic music, modern composed and combinations of all before mentioned styles. With their groovy and percussive way of playing they sometimes sound like a heavy rock band, a Bulgarian folk group or a ‘bebopping’ jazz ensemble. For their program Passagio, many Dutch musicians and composers wrote new compositions: Ernst Reijseger, Guus Janssen, Martin Fondse, Arend Niks and Corrie van Binsbergen were higly inspired by this quartet.
