Following the successful first edition in 2007, the Young Pianist Foundation presents the YPF Jazz Pianoconcours 2009. The preliminary round of the competition took place on 29 November 2008: six semi-finalists were selected behind closed doors on the basis of submitted audio material. The selected piano talents will give live performances for jury and audience. Pierre-François Blanchard, Sri Hanuraga, Sandro Savino, Evgeny Sivstov, Andrea Taeggi, Anne Guus Teerhuis will be competing in the semi-finals to become one of the three finalists. Their performances will be evaluated by an international jury comprised of Lodewijk Bouwens, Antonio Faraò, Bob Hagen, Karst de Jong, Enrico Pieranunzi, Bobo Stenson, John Taylor and Jacky Terrasson. On Friday 23 and Saturday 24 January a number of the international members of the jury will be giving solo concerts in Bimhuis. www.jazzconcours.nl
