Catchy sounds and melodies are at the heart of Youngwoo Lee’s music. At the same time he dares to experiment with acoustic piano as well as Fender Rhodes and synthesizer. His album Timeline sounds accessible, while it is strewn with odd meter and atypical beats. He continues to explore the direction of electronic music and even pop. He has collaborated with K-Pop star So!YoON!, for example.

The Youngwoo Lee Quartet is established in Amsterdam, bringing together musicians from Korea, Portugal and The Netherlands. The band leader has appeared on our stage before in bands such as Guy Salamon Group and Sun-Mi Hong Quintet. In his own band we recognize musicians that have also performed here more than once: alto saxophonist José Soares, double bassist Tijs Klaassen and drummer Sun-Mi Hong.
