This super session is all about improvisation. Three bands will each collaborate with a special guest, but in the end all options are open. Pianist Young-Woo Lee has been influenced by the harmonies of 20th century composers such as Olivier Messiaen, but also by the complex rhythmic ideas and electronic sounds from contemporary jazz and improvised music. As a contrast to the complexity, he strives for singable melodies. Featuring drummer SunMi Hong, known from the Young VIPS tour, and special guest Reinier Baas on guitar.
A collaboration between Dutch poet Mark Opfer and double bassist William Barrett led to the foundation of the group Vondelier. Exciting jazz composing and Dutch lyrics are brought together with poetic Dutch lyrics, performed by singer Laura Drooge and colored by guitarists Gijs Idema en
Linus Eppinger. Special guest is sax and clarinet player Michael Moore.
A real explosion of all kind of blues: the five-piece Sam Ghezz Blues Band from Amsterdam will lead you through the best music of the 1950s and 60s. From the bluesiest jazz ballads to the most swinging dancing songs by Ray Charles and many others. Featuring special guest Simon Rigter on tenor sax.
