Thomas Winther Andersen / Håkon Storm

Håkon Storm guitar, Thomas Winther Andersen bass, Natalio Sued tenorsax, Mark Coehoorn drums

The joy for playing of Winther-Storm shows that the founders of the band have been playing together for more than half their lives. Bassist Thomas Winther Andersen and guitarist Håkon Storm, both born in Oslo, made a name for themselves in the Line Up group with Jimmy Halperin, saxophonist and composer from the Lennie Tristano school. The compositions of Winther and Storm are also influenced by the ingenious melodies and harmonies of Tristano.
Amsterdam is home to their band Winther-Storm, with the Argentine tenor saxophonist Natalio Sued and the Dutch drummer Mark Coehoorn. In their dynamic, extremely varied band sound they incorporate developments from jazz of the past 50 years. Their second album, Spinnaker, won The Independent Music Award in 2013.

On this evening, Thomas Winther Andersen also celebrates his 30-year anniversary as a Norwegian in the Netherlands.
