The WBK plays a kind of symphonic music with an orchestra that is not bigger than a small brassband. At the same time this ambition is put in perspective. Compositions touching classical music written to fit the characters of the individual musicians and their instruments. So called spiritual composers often take the wrong road towards creating a piece, Breuker uses simple methods to avoid this and to make the music more human and accessible. The collective jumps from Rameau to musical and from jazz to modern without making any effort that could imply that they intentionally wish to blend those genres. Solid, boundless music.
