WILLEM BREUKER KOLLEKTIEF

George Pancraz-trumpet, Andy Altenfelder-trumpet, Andy Bruce-trombone, Bernard Hunnekink-trombone, tuba, Willem Breuker-sax, clarinet, Frans Vermeerssen-soprano sax, alto sax, Hermine Deurloo-alto sax, harmonica, Maarten van Norden-tenor sax, Henk de Jonge-piano, Arjen Gorter-bass, Rob Verdurmen-drums

Willem Breuker plunders music history – with respect – creating accessible music from divergent styles. He and his Kollektief have been performing together for more than 30 years. ‘Breuker can be compared to composers like George Gershwin and Kurt Weill. His style is instantly recognizable, but can’t be pigeon-holed as classical or jazz.’ (Het Parool) ‘Breuker can re-create whole centuries of Western folk, popular and classical music styles.’ (The Chicago Sun Times)
