We Three are made up of three illustrious friends. Breathing new life into American jazz, they became famous in the 1970s: Dave Liebman as one of the best soprano saxophonists after Coltrane, Steve Swallow as a melodic innovator of the bass guitar and Adam Nussbaum as the reliable drummer of several acts including John Scofield. They’ve played important roles in each other’s careers but only recently formed a trio, in which they challenge each other in a relaxed way. ‘Low key, fun and informal’ (Jazz Times).
