Lovers of excellent ‘worldjazz’ are highly appreciative of singer/guitarist Vinicius Cantuária. Like Arto Lindsay, he is a Brazilian American who spices samba and bossanovas with influences from jazz and experimental rock. But opposed to Lindsay he doesn’t let those elements clash and his songs do not confront. His mostly sweet and intoxicating melodies become pleasantly eccentric due to the effects and imaginative improvisations.
