VINICIUS CANTUARIA
Vinicius Cantuaria-vocals, guitar, Michael Leonhart-trumpet, Paul Socolow-bass, Adriano Santos-drums, Dende-percussion
Vinicius Cantuaria worked with Brazilian superstars like Caetano Veloso (for him Cantuaria wrote the worldwide hit ‘Lua e Estrella’), Chico Buarque en Gilberto Gil. In 1994 he traded Rio de Janeiro for New York where he developed himself by (like city fellow Arto Lindsay) combining sambas and bossa novas with influences from jazz and experimental rock. In contrary to Lindsay he doesn’t let those elements crash, Cantuaria’s music is rather sweet, intoxicating and eccentric in a pleasant way.
