VERNON REID & MASQUE

Vernon Reid, mainly known as founder and guitarist of the legendary band Living Colour, gathered some of ‘New York’s finest young players’ for his new group Masque: keyboard man Leon Gruenbaum, also inventor of the Samchillian Tip Tip Tip Cheeepeeee, bass player Hank Schroy and drummer Don McKenzie. The group released two albums – ‘Known/Unknown’ and ‘Other True Self’ – on the Favored Nations label of Steve Vai with music that Reid describes as ’the place where rock, hip hop, and technology meet’. Next to compositions of Reid and the other band members they play covers of Depeche Mode, Radiohead and Tony Williams, to name few.
