The super trio Free Form Funky Freaks, with Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid and the unequalled Free Funk rhythm duo Tacuma Weston, brings a highly original, powerful interpretation of the unruly, and influential free jazz of Ornette Coleman. His classics are unravelled by the trio and put back together again. Weston and Tacuma were respectively seventeen and nineteen years old when they played together in Ornette’s Prime Time Band. The concert of Reid/Tacuma/Weston will be recorded by VPRO Radio and broadcasted in the program “jazz@VPRO” on Friday February 8th, 10 PM – 12 PM at radio 6 (or via internetradio: www.vpro.nl/jazz).
