In 1994, VeDaKi started out as Vershki Da Korshki which can be translated as ‘roots and leaves’. Their music consists improvisations (the leaves) based on the traditions (the roots) from Europe, Senegal, Russia, India/Tuva and South Siberia. The group shows a great musical sense of humor and breaks all genre rules in a very pleasant way.
