After joining master percussionist Roberto Vizcaino for a spectacular opening duet Lucas van Merwijk takes his Music Machine back to Spanish Harlem in the 1960s and 70s. That was when the New York borough was captivated by Latin Soul and Boogaloo, hybrids of Cuban music, R&B and funk. Percussionist Van Merwijk and his group play songs by entertainers like Joe Cuba, King Nando and The Hi-Latins.
