De Uitmarkt is the national opening of the cultural season that traditionally takes place in the last weekend of August. Every year the festival is located in another spot. In 2007 this will be in the Oostelijk Havengebied with its unique combination of water, architecture and culture. With over 450 free performances on 30 stages, 500.000 visitors will get a preview of the coming cultural season. From ballet to hip hop, from theatre to jazz.
