The Turkey Now! Jazz Weekend closes with a night featuring singer Aynur. First she appears as a guest with Arifa, the ensemble that colours Turkish music with jazz and Balkan accents. Arifa’s previous concert at the Bimhuis received a five star review in Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant. Performances by Aynur and her band have been praised by critics as ‘pure enchantment’. Aynur is part of the young Istanbul music scene portrayed in the documentary Crossing the Bridge by the renowned director Fatih Akin.
