TUMULT EXTRAVAGANZA

The four bands at Tumult Extravaganza represent the youngest generation of improvising musicians in Amsterdam. Originated at underground venues such as Zaal 100 and OT301 they now join forces in Tumult. In their independent, forward-thinking approach they follow the example of the noise, rock and punk improv of groups such as The Ex and Palinckx, as well as the ‘instant composers’ of earlier generations. These bands are very diverse, from EKE’s power music to the layered grooves of PumpOrgan and from the hypnotic electronica of Knalpot to the surprising, jazz-like The Ambush Party.
