TRIO ELB: PETER ERSKINE/NGUYEN LE/MICHEL BENITA

As a former drummer of Weather Report, Peter Erskine is among the pioneers of jazz rock. After the heyday of that movement he played with well-known artists in both jazz and pop, from Freddie Hubbard and Diana Krall to Joni Mitchell and Steely Dan. With Trio E.L.B., Erskine carries on the musical heritage of Jimi Hendrix, who had a fascination for jazz, along with blues and psychedelic rock. Guitarist Nguyên Lê references Hendrix, as well as John Scofield and Pat Matheny, in his playing.
