TRIO BAARS/KNEER/ELGART

Saxophone and clarinet player Ab Baars represents ‘the best of what Dutch improvised music has to offer’ (de Volkskrant). With the German double bass player Meinrad Kneer he has recorded the duo album Windfall. Their playing breathes freedom and space, which is something the American jazz drummer Billy Elgart can appreciate. He played with legendary band leaders, such as Paul Bley, Lee Konitz and Sam Rivers, and he remains a true ‘musician’s musician’, independent, unconstrained and with a unique rhythmic drive.
