Four years ago he moved to Brazil to be in Ivan Lins’ band but master drummer Lucas van Merwijk invited Uruguayan guitar virtuoso Leonardo Amuedo back to the Netherlands for a series of exclusive concerts with Jeroen Vierdag on bass. Steely Dan’s Walter Becker described a concert of this trio like ‘the most satisfying live jazz I’ve experienced in a while… rarely do three players seem so well suited to each other, and rarely are fluency and familiarity so well combined with freshness and spontaneity.’
