Prior to the ZomerJazzFietsTour an homage to this adventurous Groningen festival, featuring two duos formed by festival favorites from previous editions.

In august a new edition of ZomerJazzFietsTour will take off. Alongside four bicycle routes in the beautiful Reitdiep valley northwest of the city of Groningen a series of jazz and improv concerts will take place in medieval churches and barns. As a preface the Bimhuis will pay homage to this adventurous festival with a double concert, the ZomerJazzFietsTour Tandem.

Remarkable duos have given the ZomerJazzFietsTour is special character. The acoustics of the small churches were essential in the choice of programming duos in the almost 30 years the festival has taken place. On this tandem night French double bassist Joëlle Léandre will perform with her fellow countryman Vincent Courtois on cello, followed by two giants from the London scene, saxophonist Trevor Watts with pianist Veryan Weston.

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
